About

Wedding celebrant in a serene floral garden, holding a ceremony folder and dressed in a soft blue jacket and white scarf, surrounded by white and pink blossoms.

Why I became a celebrant

Creating and conducting bespoke and meaningful ceremonies for couples and families, as they mark those special occasions and significant moments in their lives, is truly a privilege.  My style is natural, modern and contemporary, and my aim is to deliver an engaging and inclusive ceremony, that is personalised and has been written exclusively for you.

My approach to ceremonies

When choosing how and what to do on your wedding day or at a family member's funeral, I firmly believe in freedom of choice and expression.  It no longer has to be a traditional or set format - you can do it where you want and in a style or theme that suits you.

Hi, I'm Sara

Before moving to Nottingham and becoming an independent celebrant, I ran my own successful retail business, a womenswear store, for many years in a small market town in West Wales.

From fashion to celebrancy

I got married in 2022 to my husband Chris, and re-located to the East Midlands soon after, and I now have three step-children, and a variety of pets!  In that time, I have trained with the Academy of Modern Celebrancy and become a wedding celebrant, and I am currently doing my training for funerals and memorials of life.

Celebrancy has been a good and natural fit for me.  My retail customers, would often share and reflect upon their life stories with me.  This gave me personal fulfillment and meaning beyond the 'day job', and a greater understanding of what it is to be human... I discovered that I enjoyed writing when I created a very popular newsletter and blog for the business, and I have been able to further develop my writing skills in my role as a celebrant.  I also know what it is to stage events, having organised numerous fashion shows over the years, plus how to perform on stage, (as being welsh!) I have sang in various groups and choirs since a young age.

A bit more about me

In my spare time I sing, do a little yoga, challenge myself to a killer sudoku a day, linocut and spend time with my husband in the great outdoors.

Hope to hear from you soon... x
